Historic towns and a modern hub. A chat down by the stage. Coastal walks and hilltop hikes. A lighthouse on the edge.

Marystown, the region’s largest town and commercial centre, has attracted shipbuilders for more than 400 years. Check out the Marystown viewpark and piece together the area’s rich shipbuilding heritage. Interested in hearing more? Be sure to visit the Marystown Heritage Museum. Next, wind your way south on Route 221 and explore the thirteen coves and settlements that make up the present day community of Burin. Climb to the top of Captain Cook’s Lookout, or Man O War Hill and drink in the panoramic view. Park the car and enjoy a stroll along Burin’s quiet streets. Learn a little local history with a visit to Reddy House, or the historic bank building across the way.
